TrailWeight Privacy Policy

TrailWeight is developed by Northstave LLC (“Northstave,” “we,” “us”). This policy describes TrailWeight as it ships — what stays on your device, what (if anything) leaves it, and who can see it.

Data we collect

We do not collect personal information from TrailWeight. There is no Northstave account, no Northstave server, and no advertising or analytics SDK in the app. We do not sell your data.

• Content you create in the app is stored on your device. We cannot read it.
• iCloud. If you are signed into iCloud, TrailWeight may sync that content through your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit. That data is associated with your Apple ID. We do not have access to it.
• Diagnostics. If you opt in, Apple may share aggregated, anonymized crash and performance reports with us through App Store Connect. These do not identify you. We do not ship a third-party crash or analytics SDK.

How we use data

Because your content stays on your device (or in your iCloud), it is used only to provide TrailWeight's features. We do not use it for advertising or profiling.

Third parties

TrailWeight relies on Apple platform services (iCloud, Camera, Photo library). Your use of those services is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

TrailWeight also fetches data directly from these third-party services, from your device, with no Northstave server in between:

• Open Products Facts — to look up product details when you scan a barcode or search a product name. These requests send only the barcode or search text you provide.

Some network requests happen only when you start them. TrailWeight fetches the address you chose, and nowhere else:

• read a title or basic details from a purchase link you attach to a gear item. These requests send only the URL you entered.

A searchable catalog of published gear weights may refresh in the background so you can add items without typing weights by hand. That download does not include your pack lists or an identifier for you.

Camera and photos

TrailWeight asks for Camera and Photo library permission only when you use a feature that needs it. Photos and captures stay with your TrailWeight data (on device and, if enabled, in your iCloud). They are not uploaded to Northstave.

Purchases

TrailWeight does not currently offer in-app purchases. If that changes, payments would be handled by Apple; we would not receive your payment details.

Children

TrailWeight is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your rights

Because your data lives on your device, you remain in control of it. Deleting the app removes its on-device data. iCloud copies can be managed in your device's iCloud settings. Where TrailWeight stores user content, it offers a non-proprietary export so you can take your data with you.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “last updated” date above.
