About Northstave

Northstave LLC is an independent software studio. We build small, focused apps for iOS — the kind we want to use ourselves: calm, private, and honest about what they do.

What the name means

A stave is one of the hand-shaped strips of oak a cooper fits together to build a barrel — the stuff of craft, patience, and things made to last and get better with age. Set that alongside the north star — the fixed point you steer by — and you have our whole approach: carefully built tools that help you find your way, whether that's a lighter pack, a planned week of meals, or a clearer relationship with your phone.

How we build

• Privacy first. We keep data on-device wherever we can and lean on Apple's frameworks instead of third-party trackers.
• No dark patterns. Clear pricing, no manipulative design, and no fighting for your attention.
• Focused, native apps. Each app does one thing well and is built to last.
