About Northstave

Northstave LLC is a one-person studio in Michigan. We make native Apple apps for the work of running a home: what to eat, what to maintain, and what the builder still owes you.

What the name means

A stave is one of the hand-shaped strips of oak a cooper fits together to build a barrel — craft, patience, and things made to last. Set that alongside the north star — the fixed point you steer by — and you have the approach: carefully built tools for the household.

How we build

• Craft. Native SwiftUI, widgets, App Intents, Dynamic Type, and accessibility on day one — not cross-platform wrappers or web views as UI.
• Domain depth. Each app encodes real expertise: coverage tiers, maintenance rules, meal planning. Not a thin list with a reminder.
• Ownership. One-time purchases by default; a subscription only where ongoing cost or content justifies it. Data on your devices and iCloud, with full export.
• Calm. No streaks, no badges for engagement, notifications only when a deadline is real. Privacy is a promise, not the headline.
